The
purpose of the Council for Developing Discipleship and Ministry
is:-
a) to develop and implement a strategy for
deepening faith and discipleship in individuals and in congregations
and for recruitment and training for ministry, lay and ordained,
formal and informal, in line with diocesan policy as defined
by the Diocesan Synod and the Bishop's Council.
b) to promote Christian Giving as an expression of Christian
discipleship;
c) to have responsibility for the integration of Reader ministry,
with the Readers' Board, as a permanent working Group of the
Council;
d) to advise the Diocesan Synod and the Bishop's Council in
relation to future developments of diocesan policy in these
areas;
e) to cooperate with the Pastoral
Committee in advising the Bishop about deployment of ministers;
and
f) to monitor the work of officers accountable to the Council,
receiving their advice and offering them support and encouragement.
