This group provides and assists lifelong learning in the Diocese which is consistent with the faith and practice of the Church of England. It also promotes and assists Church Schools through advice to Governors and to Trustees of Church educational endowments and any other body or person concerned on any matter affecting Church Schools in the Diocese.

The Board of Education covers learning for children, young people and adults of any age and can provide learning opportunities for both clergy and lay people.

The Board of Education also receives and administers grants.
