The Worship Advisory Group exists to resource
the Diocese and its parishes as they explore worshipping together,
primarily through:
- advising the Bishop and enabling special Diocesan services
- encouraging and offering practical help to individual
parishes as they reflect on the health and direction of
their own distinctive worshipping life
- stimulating creativity in worship and the imaginative
use of liturgy, buildings, music, art and drama
- developing understanding and confidence in the leading
and planning of worship
- offering training on new developments in Anglican worship
and challenging the local church to new perspectives
- working, where appropriate, in partnership with the Royal
School of Church Music; the Diocesan Spirituality Group;
the Continuing Ministerial Education Adviser; the Readers’
Board; the Diocesan Advisory Committee for the Care of Churches,
and other local initiatives and organisations, so that God
may be glorified and his people renewed.
