| Swine Flu Latest – 2 October
2009
We seem to be entering the second phase of the Swine Flu Pandemic
with a notable increase of reported cases during this last
week. Just to remind everyone that the restrictions we put
in place a few weeks ago still remain for the time being.
A letter was sent out to all parishes via
the clergy asking if they would consider setting up ‘Flu
Friends’ to help with collecting medication etc for
people in their area - some parishes have responded and have
let me know who their co-ordinator is and a contact number,
and on ten occasions we have had to use their services. If
your parish hasn’t done this yet, would you please think
about doing it and let me have the details.
This is a wonderful chance for the local
church to be proactive in the community, and if Christian
love means anything, it means not passing by on the other
side.
