“To enable each child to hear the story of the Bible in their primary years”
Open the Book teams from this Diocese visit around 50 Primary Schools (not just Church schools!) to take part in assemblies. While they are there they communicate the Bible to children in an interactive, lively and fun way!
We are organising meetings for training, fellowship, encouragement and prayer. We have recently met to share scenery and costume ideas, to learn some suitable songs for assemblies and to find out more about using puppets! If you are in a team and haven’t heard about these events please contact Sara with details of your team. (firstname.lastname@example.org)
On Nov 5th 2013 we are welcoming Bob Hartman for a training event at St Peter’s Church, Belper. The day runs from 10am until 2pm and lunch is included. There is a charge of £7 per person for this event. Please email Sara, or ring Netta on 01332 388660 to book.
THE BIG STORY!
We are also organising events in the cathedral, St Mary and All Saint’s Chesterfield and St John’s Tideswell next March (2014) Open the Book teams are going to tell the whole story of the Bible in two hours! These events will be publicised to all CofE and Open the Book schools. If you’d like to join in or have more details please contact me.
