What do the children in your group think about church? About God? What do they think church is for, and do they think some improvements could be made? What do they think of when they pray? Has anyone ever asked them about their views?
Maybe you have a group where these questions often feature as part of a session, maybe you do feel you know what the children in your church think. If so, that’s fantastic! If not, here’s something that might help.
With the numbers of children attending church falling again this year, it seemed like a good time to try to do a little research. The result is “WHAT DO THE CHILDREN THINK?” This is a pack of activities that can be downloaded from here and adapted for large or small groups, whether they meet in big or tiny spaces. You will need to read through and pick the activities that you think will be right for your group. The only thing I’d like in return is for you to send me an email letting me know how it went! I’d love to have any quotes from children and any insights you’ve gained from doing the activities. There are too many activities to do in one session, so you could, if you like, use the material over a couple of weeks. It’s up to you to decide how it works best for you.
