Diocesan Festival Services
There are two Mothers' Union Festival Services being held during the month of May.
The first is on Tuesday 8th May at St John the Baptist, Tideswell at 7.30pm. The celebrant and preacher will be our Chaplain the Rev'd Frank Yates. This will be our opportunity to thank Frank for his support and wish him well in his retirement.
The second festival will take place on Tuesday 22nd May at Derby Cathedral at 2.00pm. The celebrant and preacher will be The Very Rev'd Dr. John Davies.
All are very welcome to either or both of the services. If a Branch or Deanery is bringing their banner then please inform the M.U. Derby Office as soon as possible so that arrangements can be made.
Midday Prayers

Everywhere in the world at 12 o'clock midday members of the Mothers' Union join in a wave of prayer. In Derby we meet in the Cathedral every Friday for midday prayers. Everyone is welcome to join us as we pray for the work of the Mothers' Union worldwide. If you are in Derby on a Friday whether you are shopping or out during your lunch break please join us. Prayers usually last approximately 20mins.

Mothers’ Union in Derby Diocese
Mothers’ Union is a worldwide organisation with 4 million members spread over 78 countries. Our vision is of a world where God’s love is shown through loving, respectful and flourishing relationships.
As an international Christian charity Mothers’ Union works through grassroots membership to support families and communities, with international, national and local programmes and projects. Membership is open to all; men and women; married or single; of any denomination.
In Derby Diocese there are over 60 Mothers’ Union branches, usually attached to an Anglican parish church. In addition to branch members there are also individual diocesan members. There is a Mothers’ Union group at HMP Foston Hall.
Branches generally hold monthly meetings. Events are also held at deanery and diocesan level, including an annual conference.
