Clergy Support - Pastoral Care & Counselling

Pastoral Care of the Clergy and their Families

Last Updated on Monday, 16 May 2011 16:25

There is a free counselling service available to all Clergy and their immediate families in this Diocese, which could be of significant value to you personally.

The service provides a safe and confidential space to unpack any sort of emotional distress, whether it is from relationships (inside or outside of the family) that just aren’t working at all well, losses and bereavement, depression and anxiety, a sense of loss of vocation, or anything else that is getting you down and is draining your energy and good will.

Please contact me by phone or email for a brief discussion and evaluation of your situation.  If counselling, spiritual direction, or both seem like a good way forward, I will put you in touch with an experienced, registered and qualified counsellor near to you.  The Diocese pays for 6 sessions of professional counselling which is completely confidential.

Over the last couple of years, over 20 people in the Diocese have used this service, so please don’t feel that you have to soldier on alone, or that you are the only one who cannot manage sometimes.  Others have benefited enormously – and the service is here for you too.  Please get in touch:
