Cursillo
8-11 October
Cursillo (pronounced ker-see-yo) is a Spanish
word which means 'short course'. It lasts for three days, and is
designed to encourage ordinary Christians to have more understanding
of their faith, and a fresh joy and vitality in believing. It also
helps them to recognise their own gifts and talents, so they can
serve more effectively in their own parishes. There are talks on
subjects like prayer, study, grace and sacraments. After each talk
there is an opportunity for discussion and sharing in small groups.
Also, there are times of quiet meditation, and a daily Eucharist.
The group becomes a learning, living, praying and sharing Christian
community. It is a very special experience - many people find it
truly life-enhancing.
The next Cursillo course is from Thursday 8 -
Sunday 11 October, at Whaley Hall, Whaley Bridge. The cost for full
board is just £75. For more details, please contact the Rev'd
Sally Mason, 27, Stretton Road, Morton, Alfreton DE55 6GW, 01773
873508, sallymason@live.co.uk.
