22 Anglican Bishops from India will be visiting the Ashbourne
area of the Diocese on the 13 July.
The Bishops from North India will be in the UK for the Lambeth
Conference but will be visiting the Annual Songs of Praise
Festival at Carsington Water making it an international and
multi cultural event.
The Festival is organized by local Churches and includes
music from local Brass Bands and music groups. The event
has been growing over the last 3 years but will have a significant
boost with the visit of so many dignitaries.
Judi Hayward, the organizer said ' We are delighted that
the Indian Bishops along with the Bishop of Derby and the
Bishop of Repton are coming to our event. It has been such
fun in the past and their visit will help to make it a very
special occasion, emphasising the global nature of life today.
The Songs of Praise Festival will start at 3.00 PM on the
13 July. It is free for all visitors but everybody is encouraged
to bring and share tea. The Festival takes place at the amphitheatre
behind the main building at Carsington Water.
