Bishop makes Radio 2 debut

(06/08/2009)

The Bishop of Repton, Humphrey Southern, made his debut on BBC Radio 2’s Pause for Thought this week as part of the Sarah Kennedy breakfast show.

Bishop Humphrey talked about the need to slow down and get the pace of life right in his first broadcast.

Pause for Thought is broadcast around 6.15am each day and reaches a large audience across the UK and  throughout the world, via the internet.

"The idea is that you try to come up with a thought that helps people throughout the day. Of course, there are people of many different faiths and no faith listening, so the hope is that you can still find a message which speaks to the majority," Bishop Humprey said today.

He will return next week for his second contribution and is recording a further series for later in the year.

Pause for Thought is produced by Unique Broadcasting in London for the BBC.
