Bishop's Call to Prayer across Derbyshire

(09/09/2009)

The Bishop of Derby, Dr Alastair Redfern, is urging as many people as possible to join in the Diocesan Day of Prayer which will be held in four centres on Saturday 26 September, (10am – 3.30pm).

Bishop Alastair said today : "The Diocesan Day of Prayer is growing. For the past few years we have held a day of prayer at one location. This year the event will be held in four locations, reflecting the rich mixture and depth of spiritual skills with which the Diocese is blessed."

The four locations are:

  • St Alkmund's, Derby, led by Garrie Griffiths
  • St Helen's, Darley Dale, led by Judith Crane
  • Melbourne Parish Church, led by Bishop Alastair
  • St Mary & St Laurence, Bolsover, led by Trevor Hicks

People will be able to drop in during the day, or come for the whole time. Visitors are encouraged to bring a packed lunch if staying for the whole day. Tea and coffee will be available at all venues.

Details can be found in the prayer centre of the diocesan website
