Bishop Alastair said today: "I am delighted to be awarding 16 badges this year to recipients from throughout the Diocese.  I have been heartened and inspired by the human stories behind these nominations; examples of exceptional Christian ministry and quiet devoted service."

He added: "I am particularly encouraged by the addition of a new class of awards this year: nominations made by our Diocesan Education Team for those working with children and young people in church schools and the local community.  All the nominees would, I know, be the first to stress that they accept the award on behalf of their communities and as representatives of the many thousands of their fellow church members who work tirelessly for the Kingdom of God."
