Fair Trade

FairtradeThe Derby Diocesan Synod has voted to encourage all churches in the Diocese to become Fairtrade churches. To become a Fairtrade church, the PCC should:

  • Use Fairtrade tea and coffee after services and at all meetings for which it has responsibility
  • Move forward on using other Fairtrade products, such as sugar, biscuits and fruit
  • Promote Fairtrade during Fairtrade fortnight and during the year through events, worship and other activities whenever possible.

More details and resources can be found at the Fairtrade Churches page of the Fair Trade Foundation’s website, including an application form.

If your churches applies for Fairtrade status, please inform the Derby Diocese World Development Adviser, Christopher Harrison, who is maintaining a list of all fair trade churches in the diocese.
