0.5 Priest in Charge of Sinfin Moor LEP & 0.5 Pioneer Co-ordinator for New Housing Areas in Derby City Deanery

This is a full-time stipendiary post with an innovative dual role to lead an established ecumenical church, spearheading our deanery vision to reach new housing areas in Derby.

This is an exciting time for Derby City. We are expecting the population to grow by 20% in the next 10 years. Over 15,000 houses are planned across the city, with 2,500 new houses planned within the Sinfin Moor parish.

From its early beginnings as one of the first ecumenical churches (located in the front room of a house), Sinfin Moor LEP, now comfortably situated in a busy multi-purpose community building, is about to celebrate its 50th anniversary. The next stage is to encourage similar pioneering projects in new housing areas across Derby.

We are looking for an experienced ordained Pioneer Minister to:

  • harness and develop experience and resources within the Deanery (and beyond)
  • · co-ordinate and support a new network of lay and ordained pioneers
  • lead the congregation of Sinfin Moor in ecumenical (Anglican, Methodist and URC) worship, evangelism and acts of service to all residents - new and old!

We invite you to read the profiles from the links below and particularly explore how the combined role may strengthen the ministry of Sinfin Moor LEP as well as equipping other pioneers.

Closing date for applications: 12 noon on 7th July 2019

Interview date: 23rd July 2019
