The Chapter seeks to develop robust income generation by developing existing Cathedral resources.

We are looking for an effective senior leader with demonstrable management skills to lead our talented and resourceful team. You will be able to operate confidently across a wide range of areas including HR, safeguarding, communications, enterprise, and finance.

Community Agricultural Chaplain

Derbyshire Rural Chaplaincy  

Salary: £32,026 (full time equivalent) plus mileage and expenses

Hours: 22 per week. Flexible working hours with some weekends and evenings.

Contract: 3-year fixed term contract.

Benefits: Pension.

Location: Home working with travel across Derbyshire.

We are offering an exciting post to expand the Derbyshire Rural Chaplaincy by developing new and existing mission and ministry opportunities within the agricultural and rural community.

We aim to be distinctively Christian in our approach and witness, providing support and encouragement, in the midst of the ongoing challenges faced by farmers and rural workers.

  • You will be ordained, with previous experience of working in collaborative and creative ways within a rural community,
  • You will have an understanding of the specific needs of the agricultural sector.
  • You will be enthusiastic and will display exceptional communication skills.
  • You will be an ambassador for the chaplaincy in a variety of settings.
  • You will take responsibility for delivering specific activities and events linked to the farming year, with other members of the chaplaincy team and the administrator.
  • You will lead worship at services celebrating significant life events at the request of farming families, and by invitation from local clergy and the lead agricultural chaplain.

Children’s & Youthwork Leader/Coordinator
The parish of All Saints’ Ockbrook with St Stephen’s Borrowash

Could you make a difference in the lives of children and young people? Could you help us advance our recently developed Shaping the Future Vision Document with an emphasis on numerical and spiritual growth across the church family, including our work with the under 18s?

You will have a strong Christian faith, be passionate about children, young people, and their volunteer helpers. You will be educated to A-Level standard or have an equivalent level of experience of working with children and young people.

This is a full-time paid position, 40 hours a week (including lunch break), 41 weeks p/a (Derbyshire School term-time only, with one week at Christmas and one week in the summer holidays + statutory holidays), with a salary between £16,400 and £19,680 p/a (depending on experience).

Derby Cathedral is seeking a part-time Choir Supervisor to work 8 hours per week, providing support and care of the boy and girl choristers both in and outside the Cathedral.

The successful candidate will supervise the choristers for rehearsals, services and other events both internally and externally, ensuring their wellbeing is maintained at all times.  Choir Supervisors play a vital role in the Music Department.

As this role is supervising children and young people, a clear Enhanced DBS check prior to appointment will be required, together with the commitment to complete CofE Safeguarding training to the required level.
