Lindsay Pearson

Former music teacher to swap the classroom for church and become a Deacon at Derbyshire Cathedral

A former Derby music teacher is to be ordained as a Deacon at a special Petertide service at Derby Cathedral on Sunday 26 June 2016.

Lindsay Pearson, 34, will become Assistant Curate for Wirksworth Team Ministry after three years at the College of the Resurrection, Mirfield.

Before making a move into the church, Lindsay worked as a music teacher at a secondary school, and for an ecumenical partnership in Derby.

Lindsay said: “I cannot really explain how I was drawn into this direction, but I was - and here I am, on the brink of ordination.

“I am looking forward to taking part in the liturgical life of the parishes I serve, and becoming involved in the community.

“I don’t know Wirksworth yet but it is very beautiful - I’m enjoying familiarising myself with the area.”
