Naomi Barraclough

Post: Pioneer curate of Wirksworth Deanery, working with ‘The Bridge’, Matlock, and Wirksworth Team.

From: I have a conflicted background having spent equal time growing up living in Lancashire (Blackburn, Blackpool and Lancaster) and Yorkshire (Halifax, Bradford, and Shipley). We have spent the last three years in the North East whilst I trained for the ministry at Cranmer Hall in Durham.

Family: Husband Ben – married for three years, met during university studies in Lancaster.

Before ministry: I studied Physics with Medical Physics at Lancaster university. After this I stayed in Lancaster for a few years working as a carer and a pastoral assistant working with students for a city centre church. I thoroughly enjoyed both these jobs. I then moved to Bradford and worked for the debt counselling charity ‘Christians Against Poverty’.

Activities/hobbies/past achievements: I enjoy sports and being active, particularly running and watching football. I also like to mixing my own cocktails and go for coffee. Whilst at college both Ben and I completed qualifications in British sign language.

I am really looking forward to living in Matlock and working with The Bridge and the Wirksworth Team. It seems like a move that has been guided by God and I am excited to see what God is doing and to get involved.
