Phil Selby, a former Primary School teacher and keen Derby County fan, is to be ordained into the Church of England as deacon by the Bishop of Derby, Alastair Redfern, at a service at St Oswald’s Parish Church, Ashbourne on July 5th (10:45am).
Phil was born in Derby and has spent most of his life in the city, including growing up there and teaching for 6 years at St Werburgh’s Primary School, Spondon. He is married and has three young children. Phil became a Christian whilst attending St Giles’ Church Normanton, and it was there that he first heard the Bible’s message of the amazing love the Lord Jesus has for all people, and how he died, enabling those who trust him to be friends with God. Recently the family have been living in North London, where he has been training for his new role as Curate at Trinity Church, Buxton.
