Exciting and unique opportunities for mission and ministry!
We hope our new priest-in-charge will lead us into a dynamic and collaborative future bringing these two benefices into a much closer relationship, supporting mission across the wider Matlock area, and working closely across boundaries to encourage and help people of all ages to experience the beauty of a life with God.
The four parishes enjoy diverse worship traditions in our historic churches from a sacramental anglo-catholic tradition at Matlock to middle ground liturgically based traditions at Cromford and Dethick and more charismatic evangelical worship at Matlock Bath. CPAS is patron to the currently suspended benefice of Matlock Bath and Cromford
Each parish is blessed with a friendly and dedicated team of lay volunteers and retired clergy with PTO.
We also want to reach out with Fresh Expressions of worship, growing younger and more diverse. Matlock and Matlock Bath draw flocks of tourists every year and Cromford is part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Hurst Farm Estate in Matlock is one of the 10% most deprived housing estate communities in the country. The parishes include church and non-church schools and an established ministry to young people across the area.
We offer a modern 4 bedroomed house with garage and woodland garden in a cul-de-sac within walking distance of primary and secondary schools, a beautiful park and Matlock town centre.
Within easy reach of Manchester, Nottingham, Sheffield and the M1 we are situated in a rural Derbyshire market town setting by the river Derwent and surrounded by glorious rolling hills.
Do you hear God calling you to this ministry in the beautiful Derbyshire Dales? If so, we look forward to meeting you.
