Priest-in-Charge of the three Benefices of Belper Christ Church and Turnditch; Hazelwood, Holbrook and Milford; Ambergate and Heage

Full-time, permanent stipendiary

This is an exciting role with opportunities for civic working, community partnerships, building relationships with schools and engaging in sports chaplaincy work focussed around the beautiful market town of Belper alongside supporting the mission and ministry in surrounding smaller villages.

 

We are looking for an experienced and imaginative priest with a pioneering heart who will love the people and:

• Inhabit with integrity different worship styles and church traditions

• Help church members grow as disciples and form new disciples

• Work towards a sustainable future, bringing the churches closer together and reviewing governance structures

• Build on the relationships with schools exploring the potential for forming new worshipping communities

• Form new community partnerships and develop existing ones

• Support our desire to become more diverse and appropriately explore how each church manages inclusivity

• Make the most of seasonal opportunities

• Expand our use of social media and varied technologies to extend our reach• Explore opportunities to engage with the Civic life of Belper

• Be Chaplain to Belper Football Club

• Work closely with the benefice of St Peter’s Belper and ecumenical partners supporting the development of shared missional strategy and working for Belper.

You will find an eclectic and friendly mix of people and supportive PCCs who are looking for someone to nurture, encourage us and build on the work that is already happening with generous faith, courageous hope and life-giving love as together we transform lives, grow the church and build community.
