The four Parishes that make up the East Scarsdale Team (Holy Cross, Upper Langwith; Holy Trinity, Shirebrook; St Luke’s Whaley Thorns; St Michael’s, Pleasley) were constituted as a Team Ministry in 1994. They are currently resourced by a Team Rector and Team Vicar (this post).
The Benefice is situated on the north-eastern edge of Derby Diocese, close to Mansfield. With a rich heritage of innovation and hard work, many of the characteristics of post-industrial contexts are present here including areas of social deprivation and new housing development.
The Rectory is a large 4-bedroomed house in Shirebrook, close to Holy Trinity Church.
