For many churches, it is the adults who make the decisions about how everything is run. Maybe that's because you currently don't have any young people attending, but it could be that involving some younger people might encourage growth in this area.
Children and young people are often encouraged in their school life, to express their thoughts and ideas. If you have a Church of England Primary school in your parish it is very likely that the children who attend are used to planning, organising and running Collective Worship times for their peers. It seems sad that we don't continue to develop these skills in our churches by involving youngsters in the whole process of worship times.
I am involved in a project to discover how children and young people are currently listened to in our churches. If you would like to help in the first stages of this process, please download THIS DOCUMENT and pass whichever of the two response forms you feel is right for any children or young people (anyone up to age 18) in your church.
Many thanks in advance for any help you can give with this important area.
GROWING FAITH: CHURCHES AND SCHOOLS RESOURCE PACK - DIOCESE OF DERBY 2022
This resource pack was created following the Churches and Schools Survey of 2021. It is designed to support and encourage all churches as they aim to put Growing Faith at the heart of their parish priorities.
The first document listed is the CONTENTS of the Pack. Please read this first. It shows how the resource is divided into 8 parts. The contents document lists the areas covered by each of these 8 documents, for example, if you were looking for information around Colective Worship, you will see that this headng is no.1 on document C). If you open document C) you will find that the first section lists resources and ideas around the area of Collective Worship. Please contact Sarah.firstname.lastname@example.org if you need any assistance or if there is an area which doesn't seem to be covered.

The series is based on the Diocese of Derby Vision and Values
VISION: GOOD NEWS FOR ALL Transformed Lives, Growing Churches, Building Community
VALUES: Generous Faith, Courageous Hope, Life-giving love
The resources for each Sunday are not meant as tasks to work through. Rather, they should be taken as ideas which can be selected by children and adults to best meet the age, development, time and resources which are available. I have aimed to include Bible texts, scope for thought and conversation, craft and activities, worship, prayer ideas, and links to songs, videoclips and PowerPoints from other sites. (Please pre-watch any resource from an external site to check for suitability)
My prayer is that over the season of Lent, children and their carers will grow in their understanding of God’s immense love for each and every one. Sarah Brown - Children’s Adviser

OTHER PLACES TO LOOK
The Diocese of Portsmouth has some great resources to use at home.
If you have access to a printer, don’t miss the Bible Chat Mats which are produced by the Diocese of Bath and Wells. Great to use as you sit around the table – do some colouring and chatting!
Messy Church have also produced some ideas for Faith at Home.
You Tube videos – do make sure you preview videos before showing them to children. I haven’t watched all of these listed below!
These are from Footprints Theatre’s heritage “Story Stash”:
Crossroads Kids Club – lots of parables to watch
Little Worship Company – Bible stories and songs with children’s images
And from the Blackburn Diocesan Board of Education, Bible Podlets for all ages to listen to and discuss.
