The Revd Phil Mann, Planting Curate at Holy Trinity Brompton, Diocese of London, will be licensed as Pioneer Minister of the Derby City Bishop's Mission Order, Diocese of Derby, on Tuesday 1st August in the Bishop's Chapel, Duffield, by the Bishop of Derby. Mr Mann will be based at St Werburgh's Church, Friar Gate, Derby. The primary focus will be on young people, including students and yound professionals.
The Revd Canon Donald Macdonald, Curate of Clifton All Saints with Tyndalls Park St Mary 1975-1978 (Diocese of Bristol), Curate of Clifton All Saints with St John 1978-1979, Chaplain Derby Lonsdale College 1979-1982 (Diocese of Derby), Chaplain Derby College of Higher Education 1983-1984, Vicar of Derby St Andrew with St Osmund 1984-2010, Diocesan Communications Officer 1989-1993, Rural Dean of Derby South 1989-1999, Honorary Canon of Derby Cathedral 1995-2010, who retired in 2010 and held the Bishop of Derby’s Permission to Officiate in retirement, died on Sunday 23rd July 2017. The funeral will be held on Monday 21st August at noon at Derby Cathedral.
The Revd Carollyn McDonald will be licensed as Priest-in-Charge of Fenny Bentley, Thorpe, Tissington, Parwich and Alsop-en-le-Dale and Assistant Curate (to be known as Associate Priest) of Ashbourne with Mapleton and Ashbourne St John, Clifton and Norbury with Snelston, Diocese of Derby, on Monday 18th September at 7.30 pm at St Mary’s Tissington by the Bishop of Repton assisted by the Archdeacon of Derby.
The Revd Canon Peter Walley, Vicar of the benefice of Mickleover, Diocese of Derby, will also be Acting Archdeacon of Derby while the Archdeacon of Derby is on study leave.
