The need for St James C of E Infant School's library of Christian story books to be replaced was spotted by Liz Matthews, the school's chaplain.
Many of the books in the existing Christian library were outdated and showing signs of age.
So, St Augustine's decided to replace the ailing book stock with some shiny new titles.
The church's annual gift day raised more than £900, allowing the team to support St James Infants School, Junior School and St Chad's Derby.
The books are full of stories that the youngsters can enjoy and that will help them to understand the Bible and faith.
Revd Andy Ward presented the books to the school at a special service of worship.
