This session has a specific focus on buildings - using buildings for mission, introduction to the Diocesan Advisory Committee (DAC) and faculty process, church insurance, health and safety.

Winter Risks Workshop

Practical advice for looking after church buildings in cold weather.
The onset of cold weather will bring the usual related problems for churches and associated properties.
This Winter Risks Workshop offers you practical advice for some of the most common issues, including storm, flooding, snow, slips & trips, heating systems, as well as preparation for the potential risks associated with Christingle & Christmas services.

Registers & Churchyards

Learn about the importance of keeping accurate registers and your legal obligations relating to them; how to correct errors and how to deal with some unusual situations. The churchyard section will cover the Churchyard Regulations; burials and cremations; headstones; health and safety; the closure of churchyards and maintenance by the Local Authority.

Health & Safety for Churches

These sessions on health and safety and risk assessment for churchwardens and parish officers will be led by Kevin Thomas and Huw Andrews from Ecclesiastical Insurance.
The sessions will enable parishes to assess their health and safety needs, and by the end of the training the aim is that all participants will be able to confidently create and maintain risk assessments for all aspects of church life.
