We offer a once in a life-time opportunity for an incumbent – the chance to rebuild a burnt down church and reform a worshipping community. The work rebuilding the external shell of Mackworth church is progressing well and the faculty application for the interior design has been submitted and is under consideration by the DAC. Those plans aim to support and foster creativity in worship and community engagement. Other exciting opportunities for pioneering include two new housing estates, one as yet unbuilt; a brand new school; hopes for new worshipping communities in partnership with our local schools; pastoral care amongst the farming community in an innovative partnership with Derbyshire Rural Chaplaincy.
You will need to be entrepreneurial and pioneering; pastorally gifted and a confident teacher and nurturer to build teams of lay people; a skilled co-ordinator and organiser who is excited by the opportunity to think across boundaries and imagine new potential, possibilities and partnerships; someone who can enjoy resourcing rural mission in traditional village churches as well as pioneering in creative and innovative ways breaking completely new ground.
We offer you a desirable home in beautiful rural Derbyshire on the edges of the Dales and the Peak District but within 15 minute drive of the City of Derby.
