Mental health begins within us and is influenced greatly by everyone and everything around us.
The theme for this year’s mental health awareness week is nature, and how we connect to it. This may be as simple as looking at and caring for a houseplant, pet, or marveling at the daily changing weather, or as complex as having an allotment on which we grow our own vegetables. Just being able to go outside and walk in the wind rain, or the sunshine (which I am sure many of us prefer) can improve our mental health.
There is a lot of information and resources to help with mental health on the internet, and many places which for those who do not have access to the internet now carry information to help with access and support too.

National charity Mind and their link for mental health awareness week which has some good resources for using on social media platforms Mental Health Awareness Week 2021 | Mind Mind has asked that if you join in the conversation during the week about what you are doing for your own mental health, or that of others be that for a friend, or for well funded services, you use the the hashtags #MHAW and #FightforMH and also tag Mind on Facebook, twitter and Instagram.
Locally in Derbyshire if you need support or feel that someone you know should be referred to services who offer professional support the Derbyshire Safeguarding Adults Board offers support and information. It has a website with more information here: Derbyshire Safeguarding Adults Board Home Page and a contact number if you are concerned about any one : 01629 533190.
For Derby City a board is also in place Derby Safeguarding Adults Board, the website is here: Derby Safeguarding Adults Board (derbysab.org.uk). They have two contact numbers Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm 01332 642885, outside these hours 01332 956606. addional numbers are given on the website for minicom users and those who are deaf or hard of hearing.
Church of England resources
For Mental Health Awareness Week, The Church of England has released a series of audiograms to support good mental health. You can access these short audio clips on social media (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram), by downloading a PDF, on their website or as a podcast.
The IICSA report was published in October 2020. A briefing setting out the key findings of the report can be found here:

The Diocese of Derby is conscious that the work of the public inquiry may trigger memories and be traumatic for some individuals.

Derby Cathedral Safeguarding Audit 2019
Derby Cathedral was visited by SCIE (the Social Care Institute for Excellence) for an audit of safeguarding provision in March 2019.
The report from the Audit was published on 30 April 2019.
The Chapter of Derby Cathedral welcomes the report, which will now form the basis of the Cathedral’s work on safeguarding for the future.
The Chapter is committed to safeguarding all at Derby Cathedral.
An action plan will be adopted by the Chapter at its meeting in September.
This will be published on the Cathedral website as soon as it has been adopted.
