These rural parishes lie in the beautiful Peak District National Park. The area has hundreds of thousands of visitors exploring the story of self-sacrifice during the plague at Eyam, remembering the battle of Agincourt, visiting Chatsworth House or climbing, walking and cycling on the wild moors and gritstone edges.

The churches are coming together and seek an enthusiastic, pastorally hearted, missional priest to work with them to:

  • continue to grow the churches making new disciples and deepening the faith of existing church members
  • develop the ministry and mission already taking place, and develop and deliver new initiatives in response to identified needs and missional opportunities
  • support, and lead where currently missing, a strong ethos of pastoral care.
  • nurture a rich variety of church experience and worship tradition across the churches
  • develop existing community partnerships, form new ones and explore opportunities to create new worshipping communities with those partners
  • maintain and further develop strong relationships with families, schools, children and youth organisations based on and developing the principles of Growing Faith
  • further develop and build on the churches’ offer to visitors and pilgrims
  • develop a culture of financial and missional generosity considering how they might resource to the wider Church
  • support Stoney Middleton in moving to a sustainable model of governance

You would be supported by a strong team and the church members are ready to pledge their support to you and commit themselves to looking after your well-being, ensuring you do not take on unrealistic levels of work.

We are seeking an engaging, prayerful and hope-filled Rector who will:

Full-time stipendiary post

These three Parishes (All Saints, Ripley and St. Andrew’s, Swanwick with St. Matthew’s, Pentrich) on the eastern side of Derbyshire have been working together for three years as ‘The Butterley Churches’. They cover a range of contexts and communities: post-industrial market town, large commuter village and rural, and are growing in their relationships together. They are within a few miles of one another and are praying for a leader who can take them on the next stage of their journey, formalising their grouping through pastoral re-organisation and working with them to renew and refresh a vision for all that God can do in them and through them.

Are you an experienced leader with a passion for community engagement and collaborative ministry? We are seeking a Rector for seven rural churches in a beautiful area of South Derbyshire and someone who will:

Lead a collaborative and mission-focused benefice in the beautiful South Derbyshire countryside, building on a strong pastoral and liturgical legacy.

Full time permanent stipendiary

This is an exciting role focused on deepening relationships with God as two churches of differing traditions come together in collaborative mission across boundaries.

Full time permanent stipendiary

This is an exciting role leading a missionally active civic church in the beautiful market town of Ashbourne alongside supporting the mission and ministry in surrounding smaller villages.

We are seeking a prayerful and hope-filled Team Vicar who will:

We offer a once-in-a lifetime opportunity to partner with us in building from scratch and pioneering in brand new contexts.

Our benefice was formed on 1st January 2024 and so we are coming together for the first time and seeking a new rector who will work with us to explore creative and innovative ways of communication, administration and governance to enable us to flourish and thrive in our existing ministry so that we can prioritise the new missional opportunities available to us.

The Parish of Staveley and Barrow Hill is situated on the outskirts of Chesterfield, with a medieval Parish church in Staveley town and a daughter church in the village of Inkersall. Staveley is approximately half an hour from the Peak District National Park and is ideally situated for exploring neighbouring towns and cities. Proximity to the M1 and A1 affords good communication.

Since 1973 the Parish has been constituted as a Team Ministry now resourced by a Team Rector and Team Vicar.
