Thank you for taking the time to consider applying for training for Licensed or Authorised Lay Ministry. Thereare two sets of documents to help you in this process, an information pack and an application pack which you will find below.
You will notice that we consider conversations with other people a useful and necessary part of the process.
These conversations give you time and space to reflect more deeply on your sense of vocation, your gifts
and skills and how these fit in to the life of the church. We therefore ask that as well as talking with your
incumbent and close personal friends, you have a conversation with a Diocesan Vocations Adviser. In order
to arrange this please contact the Vocations Team Leader The Revd Canon Geraldine Pond, 01335 343129, DDO@derby.Anglican.org
As well as providing space for you to talk with others we have provided a framework on which to base your
reflections and conversations in the form of some criteria for each form of ministry. These criteria are there
to help us all discern your fit for a particular ministry therefore, please make sure you provide what evidence
you can that you meet the criteria in your completed application pack.
The closing date for completed applications is 31st May 2012 and they should be sent to the Lay Ministry
Officer. Please note that if you are selected to train for Licensed or Authorised Lay Ministry we will need evidence of a satisfactory enhanced CRB check.
Please don’t hesitate to contact the Lay Ministry Officer if you have any further questions.
